Super Easy Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish Cake

I love the holidays, and I don't really mind all of the cooking, much. But, I have to say that I could do without all of the extra cleaning that comes with it.  And at the end of the day who wants to be too tired to enjoy all of the fun with the family. Which is why I came up with this super easy strawberry cream cheese danish cake.

It's just so easy to make but at the same time a good way to impress your family and guests. And nobody has to know just little effort actually went into making it.  I like to keep my holiday dinners as simple and stress-free as possible and recipes like this cream cheese danish cake help to make that possible.

If you want it to look more like a danish, this recipe can be split into two cakes, which works great if you have a houseful of guests for the holidays. If you decide to split it, I would suggest cutting back on the cooking time in order to not overcook it. But how ever, you make it I think that you're going to find this recipe is one of the easiest holiday breakfast recipes that you've ever tried.

Ingredients:

yellow cake mix
3 eggs
2 cups sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla ( for better flavor I used Mexican Vanilla.)
1 pkg. cream cheese - softened
1/4 cup strawberry jam
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon milk

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
1. Mix together your cake mix, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla and pour into a greased 9X13 cake pan.
2. Mix together cream cheese, sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
3. Heat your jam in the microwave or on the stovetop until it reaches a liquid state. This will make it easier to work with.
4. Use the back of a serving spoon to make 12 indentions in the cake and then fill each indentation with your cream cheese mixture.
5. Drizzle the strawberry jam over the cake and bake at 350 degrees for approx. 30 minutes or until done.
6. Mix together confectioners (powdered) sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 teaspoon milk to make the icing.
7. Drizzle your glaze over cooled cake and then serve.
